Was linked here from the hitsu_fans lj comm, and just wanted to say that this is a great story. It's exactly what seems to have been going on in both of their minds, and makes a great missing scene from the current arc.

There's one small thing I noticed: that he was not used to was cold cold -- I guess you meant that what he was not used to.

The two types of cold, one an actual chill and one springing from loneliness, really ring true. Thanks for writing and sharing.
